బాలీవుడ్ ప్రౌఢసుందరి మనీషా కొయిరాలా ఓ ఇంటిది కాబోతోంది. నిన్నటితో 41 ఏళ్లు నిండిన మనీషా కొయిరాలా సమ్రాట్ దహల్ అనే కుర్రాడిని నేపాల్ లోని ఖాట్మాండులో వివాహమాడబోతోంది. ఆమె వివాహానికి నేపాల్ అధ్యక్షుడు రామ్ బరన్ యాదవ్, ప్రధాని మాధవ్ కుమార్, మావోయిస్ట్ చీఫ్ ప్రచండ, జ్ఞానేంద్రతోపాటు బాలీవుడ్ నటుడు గోవింద కూడా హాజరవుతారని సమాచారం.

కాగా తన పెళ్లి నేపాలి సంప్రదాయాలను అనుసరించి చేసుకోబోతున్నట్లు మనీషా వెల్లడించింది. ఇక రిసెప్షన్‌కు సుమారు 3వేల మంది అతిథులను ఆహ్వానించినట్లు తెలిపింది.

ఇదిలావుంటే మనీషా కొయిరాలా ఇంతకుముందే ఒకరిని వివాహం చేసుకోవాలనుకుని నిశ్చితార్థం వరకూ వెళ్లిందట. కానీ ఇద్దరి అభిప్రాయాలు వేరు కావడంతో ఆ నిశ్చితార్థం రద్దయిందని సమాచారం. ఏదైతేనేం.. కనీసం ఇప్పటికైనా మనీషా పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటున్నందుకు తాము ఎంతో సంతోషంగా ఉన్నామని ఆమె కుటుంబ సభ్యులు వెల్లడించారు.

Lexis Innovations, the cafeteria management services arm of the consulting group, Chaque Jour Outsourcing Solutions is trying to solve this dilemma through their new chain of tuck shops, Scarlets, which will be open to serve you culinary needs from July. The company expects that the biggest need of delicious and healthy food is not in the posh areas rather it's the nooks and corners of Bangalore who craves for it. So, Lexis is aiming all the gallis in Bangalore for Scarlets to serve its customers.

Though Scarlets is just another hue of red but for the tuck shops, it will signify their motto. "Scarlets, represents the color of flames and pure blood. In mythology flames have been considered as a sign of purity and healthy blood signifies the healthy human body, thus with Scarlets we promise pure and healthy food to our customers, without the deliciousness being compromised," says Paramartha Dutta, Regional Manager, Chaque Jour Outsourcing Solutions.

The Regional Manager claims that a number of the lunch meals would be quickly prepared and served to suit corporate employees and the young crowd who require a quick, yet tasty meal. The tuck shop will cater to a variety of rolls and paranthas and will also provide combo meals both for the vegetarians and the non-vegetarians, with a different menu of appetizing combos everyday. So, all the worries of a quick tiffin for office, or on an inexpensive hangout with friends is expected to be settled, when Scarlets comes to your galli.

Bangalore: Believing in luck is enough to boost performance. Scientists from the University of Cologne designed four experiments to test the effectiveness of belief in good-luck superstitions. The superstitions were tested to see whether or not they improved subsequent performance in motor dexterity, memory, solving anagrams, or playing golf, reports idiva.com.

In the experiments, the participants either brought their own lucky 'charms,' were given something they were told was lucky or had some other superstition-based encouragement. The researchers found that in all four experiments, the participants who had a lucky charm or were given encouragement via a common superstitious saying performed significantly better than their control counterparts.

The participants performed better and faster on motor dexterity tests, plus they had more confidence in their own abilities when asked beforehand how they thought they would do.

The research is the first time superstitions associated with good luck have been demonstrated to affect future performance beneficially. The research is published online in the journal Psychological Science.
