When the director told her that she is the only one who can do that particular role in Ilaignan, Namitha took it lightly but after the narration she felt that it is tailor made for her. The lady who is used to being confined to glamorous roles will do something really worthwhile. Namitha says, "People will hate me, such will be the impact." This is the 50th film by Suresh Krishna. The story of the film is about a youngster who faces numerous crises in his life and the way he overcomes them. Vidyasagar scores the music and BL Sanjay, a former assistant of PC Sriram cranks the camera. The art department is taken care of by the inimitable Thota Tharani.
